DAY #1

A velha guarda (no bom sentido) marcou presença com Neville Brody. Não poderia haver melhor opening act do que ele: citando Man Ray, Dada, Duchamp e muitos outros, o designer e diretor de arte britânico deixou o recado básico: "não esqueçam de onde viemos". Multitouch Barcelona emocionou com o vídeo poético de introdução ao seu trabalho. Lullatone e Sigur Rós na trilha sonora. O quarteto esteve no OFFF do ano passado e definitivamente tem muito futuro.
Os projetos de light design e de instalações de Jason Brughes, além dos aplicativos para sincronizar motion graphics e live performance da United Visual Artists foram outros destaques no Roots. No Loopita, as performances de Nibo e Frank Bretschneider lotaram o espaço que também é usado pela programação paralela Open Room.

The old school (in the better way of the expression) made its presence with Neville Brody. Wouldn´t be a better opening act: quoting Man Ray, Dada, Duchamp and many others, the british designer and art director left the essential message: "don´t forget where we came from". Multitouch Barcelona thrilled the audience with their 'poetic' introducting video. Lullatone and Sigur Ros on the soundtrack. The quartet were at OFFF 2008 and definitely has a great future.
The light design projects and installations from Jason Brughes and the apps to sync motion graphics and live performance from the United Visual Artists were other highlights on Roots. And Loopita was packed with the Nibo and Frank Bretschneider performances.



DAY #2

Aaron Koblin, PES e o "designer superstar" Joshua Davis causaram grande mobilização. A simpática Paula Scher, com suas idéias dedicadas ao design gráfico desde os anos 1970, trouxe um pouco de "grass roots design culture". No Loopita, a incrivel performance de Pixel colocou todo mundo em transe.
Aaron Koblin, PES and the "designer superstar" Joshua Davis engaged lots of people. The friendly Paula Scher, dedicated to graphic design since the 70s, brought some "grass roots design culture”. On Loopita, the amazing Pixel´s performance lead everybody to a kind of trance.



DAY #3
Um nome: Stefan Sagmeister. O artista austríaco cativou 3,000 pessoas no palco Roots no final do dia, vestido de mulher e com uma série de sugestões e insights engrandecedores para qualquer artista - muitos deles, baseados no seu livro 'Things I have learned in my life so far', lançado ano passado. Digital Kitchen foi outro dos nomes que mais chamou a atenção no palco principal, sem contar a própria vinheta do OFFF, exibida no último painel do dia dentro da apresentação da Prologue Films.

No Loopita, mais uma vez, a plataforma artística alemã Raster-Noton mostrou toda a desenvoltura do coletivo em música e imagens eletrônicas. O saldo da programaçao deste ano é mais do que positiva. Com toda a certeza, criativos de toda a Europa e outros continentes contam com o OFFF 2010 em Portugal na sua programação. Fail Gracefully...

One name: Stefan Sagmeister. The austrian artist charmed 3,000 people on Roots stage at the end of the day, cross-dressed, and with a bunch of good suggestions and insights to any artist - most of them, developed and further published on the 2008's book 'Things I have learned in my life so far'. Digital Kitchen was another hightlighted name on the main stage, as also happened with Prologue films during the OFFF´s title projection opening its presentation.
On Loopita, the german artist platform Raster-Noton enrapture the audience again, exihibiting all the collective´s positive boldness regarding music and electronic images. The balance of OFFF's 2009 is more than positive. And, for sure, lots of creative people from Europe and all the way from everywhere are already scheduled to OFFF 2010 in Portugal. Fail Gracefully...
