Câmera Cega / Blind Camera

O projecto Buttons (aka "Blind Camera") feito por Sascha Pohflepp, artista novos media residente em Berlim, capta o momento de carregar no botão de uma maquina fotográfica, mas o equipamento não tem nenhuma parte óptica. A câmera memoriza apenas o tempo em que o botão foi pressionado e procura imediatamente na internet outras fotos que tenham sido tiradas no mesmo momento.
Essencialmente, é uma câmera que apenas tira fotos que foram criadas por alguem que pressionou o botão algures no mesmo momento. Depois de alguns minutos ou horas, dependendo de quando alguem partilha a sua foto na web, uma imagem aparecerá no ecran. De uma maneira, pertence tambémà pessoa que carregou no botão e ainda se lembra desse momento. Devido a essa ligação as fotos nunca são consideradas aleatórias, por muito enigmáticas que sejam.

Buttons project (aka the "Blind Camera") made by Sascha Pohflepp, new media artist based in Berlin, captures a moment at the press of a button. However, the device doesn't have any optical part. The camera memorizes only the time of the picture and immediately searches the net for other photos that have been taken in the same moment.
Essentially, it is a camera that only takes photos that were created by someone who pressed a button somewhere else at that very time as its own button was pressed.
After a few minutes or hours, depending on how soon someone else shares their photo on the web, an image will appear on the screen. In a way, it belongs half to the person who had pressed the button and still remembers that moment. Because of that connection, the photos are never dismissed as random, no matter how enigmatic they may be.
