Cell Phone Disco feito por Auke Touwslager e Ursula Lavrencic é uma instalação lúdica-experimental composta por células pulsantes. Através da multiplicação de gadgets para telemóveis, e na alteração destes foi criado um espaço para experenciar o corpo invisível do telemóvel.
A instalação consiste em duas partes :

MOBILE AURA (Aura do telemovel):
Células pulsantes com sensores de alta sensibilidade detectam radiação electromagnética dos telemóveis numa área de 1 metro.Assim uma especie de aura aparece à volta do telemóvel, revelando o seu corpo invisivel.

Enquanto o utente se move a falar ao telemóvel, esta aura segue a conversa como que uma sombra de luz no espaço.

MOBILE DRAWING (desenho de telemóvel)
Células mais sensíveis são usadas para criar uma tela para um marcador sem tinta. Os LEDs são activados por uma aproximação da fonte electromagnética, deixando uma marca de luz...um desenho electromagnetico.


Cell Phone Disco by Auke Touwslager and Ursula Lavrencic is a playful experimental installation made out of flashing cells. By multiplication of a mobile phone gadget, only slightly altered consumer product, they created a space to experience the invisible body of the mobile phone.
The Cell Phone Disco installation has two parts:

MOBILE AURA
Flashing cells with sensors of higher sensitivity are used to detect electromagnetic radiation of active mobile phone in a range of approximately a meter. This way a sort of aura appears around the phone, revealing a part of it's invisible body.

While the user moves around talking on his cell phone, this aura follows the conversation as a light shadow through the space.

MOBILE DRAWING
Much less sensitive cells are used to create a canvas for an inkless marker. The LEDs get activated only by an extreme proximity of the electromagnetic source. Moving the phone close to the cells therefore leaves a trace of light, an electromagnetic drawing.
